Amesbury CE Primary School

LUNCHES

Do I have to pay for school meals?

You may know that all children in Reception up to the end of Year 2 are eligible for Universal Free School Meals (UIFSM) but did you know that some families are also eligible for Means Tested Free School Meals (FSM)?

For families who get FSM the school also gets additional funding that can be used to support your child’s learning in class too.

All pupils in KS2 (Years 3, 4, 5 & 6) who do not qualify for FSM will need to order and pay for their school lunches in advance via SCOPAY.  You can download the SCOPAY app to your smartphone or click here.

Your child may be able to get free school meals if you get any of the following:

  • Income Support
  • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • the guaranteed element of Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
  • Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
  • Universal Credit - if you apply on or after 1 April 2018 your household income must be less than £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits you get)

You can apply for free school meals here: https://wiltshire.gov.uk/schools-learning-free-school-meals  Please note that by following the link below to the online free school meals eligibility checking service, the link below will take you to the Wiltshire County Council’s website.   You can also contact the main school office for support or to ask any further questions regarding this.
